9 Everton fan tweets guaranteed to make you laugh

If you’re an Everton fan in the Transfer Tavern, you’re probably feeling pretty good right now!

The 3-0 decimation of Sunderland on Monday evening did little to stop the good form being shown by Ronald Koeman’s side, with a Romelu Lukaku hat-trick ensuring the Toffees came away from the Stadium of Light with all three points.

Even the barman is in agreement here, he reckons the best bit of business conducted by the Toffees this summer was keeping hold of the lethal forward.

With everything seemingly looking good going forward, here at the Transfer Tavern we want to brighten up the mood even more for Toffees supporters.

We all know the gold mine of banter that can be social media site Twitter and we’ve got reason to believe that the Goodison Park faithful are a particularly funny bunch.

So with that in mind, here’s 9 Everton fan tweets guaranteed to make you laugh!

Sissoko’s gone awol!

A pretty funny start to life in this list is something that happened pretty recently. Deadline day was an evening that was dominated by both Spurs and Everton and their tug-of-war for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Deadline day was an evening that was dominated by both Spurs and Everton and their tug-of-war for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Everton fans were led to believe that they had won the race for the Frenchman, but as you can see in this tweet Sissoko found out he had nearly joined the Toffees by turning on the TV….

Mata? You must be joking!

Football can be a cruel world where opposition supporters are as unsympathetic as they come. This is somewhat epitomised by this tweet, with the user

This is somewhat epitomised by this tweet, with the user ruthlessly mocking Everton’s inability to sign top quality players and bringing in Enner Valencia.

Harsh but true!

Dickov isn’t sure about Sissoko either…

Everyone’s favourite striker Paul Dickov even managed to get in on the Moussa Sissoko banter and his hilarious pre-signing tweet definitely came true.

Hashtag Karma, as Dickov says himself.

The heartfelt tweets after Martinez left (pt 1)

It’s a bit evil but we love it when a manager is sacked and Twitter reacts. Come on, its one of the best things- especially when the reign goes somewhat sour right?

So when Martinez was given the boot earlier this year, Twitter was awash with funny meme’s, tweets and videos.

This is one of our favourites, and hopefully how Martinez didn’t encourage his players to defend during his tenure…

Part two of our favourite Martinez-based tweets and this one comes from one Everton supporter in particular that seemed happy to see the Spaniard leave Goodison Park.

This little lad obviously sums up how lots of Everton fans were feeling that afternoon…

SomeEvertonFan (The whole account in general)

This account is generally pretty hilarious on the whole but this tweet in particular had us laughing more than the rest right now.

Yes, the Toffees have started well but we think this might be taking it a little too far. We thought deluded was more a Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers sort of thing….

Loyalty?

As we’ve mentioned earlier in this list, there have been plenty of tweets mocking Everton’s inability to sign the players they’d been linked with this summer, especially the likes of Moussa Sissoko.

So when EvertonUSA made this image in retaliation, we thought we’d add it in our list. He played pretty well on Monday evening too…

Serious karma for Hart!

A couple of weeks before his transfer to Torino, a potential destination touted for Joe Hart had been Goodison Park.

And we like this tweet after all the work the English shot-stopper did to persuade former Toffee John Stones to join him at the Etihad.

Hart didn’t end up at Everton we found this pretty amusing all the same!

What new stand?

The final tweet in our list comes from SomeEvertonFan who once again, had us in stitches with this particular jibe towards the Toffees’ Merseyside neighbours.

In case you didn’t know, The Reds opened their new main stand for the first time in their win over Leicester City and it was bragged about. A lot.
