For the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, there is nothing more important than seeing young players come through the developmental system…
John Terry was the last player to really make it at Stamford Bridge, and whilst his career was better than anyone could have imagined, it is time for Chelsea to repeat that feat.
There certainly isn’t a shortage of opportunities for that at present, with some of Europe’s best young players currently representing the Blues. One such player is Nathan Ake, but according to the Guardian, Chelsea look set to move him on this summer.
It is a particularly strange decision from the Blues given that he looked good when called upon last year, and subsequently, this has been met with real anger amongst supporters in the Transfer Tavern.
A fan favourite following his return, Ake impressed when given an oppurtunity at Stamford Bridge – leaving our landlord convinced that he would become a star at Stamford Bridge.
That doesn’t look likely to be the case, and much like those in the pub, the Chelsea fans on Twitter aren’t very happy at all. Indeed, many think that this is a big mistake from the Blues…
