Liverpool: Reds interested in Aaron Ramsey transfer

As per TransfermarktWeb, Liverpool are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey from Juventus.

The Wales international joined the Old Lady on a free transfer last year, but he has failed to guarantee himself a spot in Maurizio Sarri’s first XI. Indeed, so far this season he has managed to start just nine of 26 Serie A matches (Transfermarkt).

Therefore, he could already be on the move in the summer. The Reds are mentioned as one of the clubs said to be interested, along with Manchester United, Chelsea and former club Arsenal.

Clearly, Ramsey has talent. Indeed this is a player who has 65 goals and 65 assists in the Premier League to his name (Transfermarkt) and it is telling that a side like Juve decided to sign him. However, there are a number of reasons why the Anfield outfit must avoid any move for him.

For a start, his wages would destroy their salary structure. As it stands, he earns £400,000 a week according to the BBC – that is at least double the pay any of those currently on Merseyside receive. Added to that, at 29 years old he is not on the young side and considering the Reds have acquired young talents such as Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott in recent transfer windows, he would very much go against their current transfer policy.

With a market value of £25.2m and three years left on his contract, he would unlikely represent a cheap deal, whilst he has struggled with injuries throughout his career and is therefore unreliable. There really is no doubt about it – signing him would be a monumental mistake.
