AC Milan are interested in signing Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. Sky Sports has reported that Milan’s interest is in the early stages, and the club would like to understand if a deal is feasible financially.
Hojlund signed for United in 2023 in a £72m from Atalanta after impressing showings in Serie A. He has so far struggled to replicate this form for United and finds himself under fire from certain sections of the Old Trafford faithful.
The 22-year-old is under contract at United until 2028 with the option of a further year, and has previously expressed his desire to stay and fight for his place at the club. Things could change now however, following the news of United’s agreement to sign highly rated Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbuemo’s impending signing follows United’s earlier signing of Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha this summer, which could push Hojlund down the pecking order.
Milan keen on Hojlund

Hojlund has had the misfortune of leading the line for an unsavory record for United. The Red Devils endured their worst ever season in front of goal last campaign, scoring just 44 times in 38 matches. Hojlund chipped in with four of his own, a total deemed not good enough by many at Old Trafford.
The player has shown glimpses of his ability however, with his pace and athleticism causing problems for backlines. Sections of United supporters have leapt to his defense, stating that the player needs more time to adapt to Ruben Amorim’s system.
It is yet to be seen whether Milan’s interest becomes more concrete later in the window, but with four recognized forwards now in United’s first team, it is likely at least one sale will be sanctioned. New signings Cunha and Mbeumo join Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
The massive outlays required to sign the former two suggest they will slot right into the XI, and many expect Hojlund and Zirkee to fall down the pecking order.
United still have Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho on their books and are considered by Ruben Amorim to be separate from the first team. The four are expected to leave this summer and could be sold to recoup transfer funds.
