Liverpool: Fans hammer Patrick van Aanholt’s comments on Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is arguably the best right-back in the world right now.

The 21-year-old has revolutionised the right-back role and he has been so impressive that he has even been compared to Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (Sky Sports via The Daily Mirror). He has managed 14 assists in all competitions this season, having racked up 16 during the 2018/19 campaign. All of this was recognised in the latest Ballon d’Or rankings, with the England international finishing in the top 20.

However, according to Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt, Alexander-Arnold isn’t the best in his position – he thinks that Manchester United man Aaron Wan-Bissaka has the edge. On the Counter Attack podcast, he said when asked if the Red Devils ace was better: “Without a shadow of a doubt [Wan-Bissaka is better]. I have got respect for Trent, but if you ask Wilf [Zaha] who he would want to play against, every other day, Trent or Wan-Bissaka, I think he will say Trent.”

PVA is similar to Trent he’s an attacking fullback so technically every winger in the league wants to face him, so he’s discrediting his own ability.
