‘All out and start again’ - Rangers fans on Twitter slate current squad ahead of Gerrard arrival

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s 1-1 draw away at Pittodrie as both clubs handed the initiative to Aberdeen in the race for a 2nd place finish in the Scottish Premier League. Ross McCrorie equalised with a second-half header to give the Gers a point in Jimmy Nicholl’s second game in charge as interim manager.

Rangers have got a young core squad, with players like McCrorie, Jordan Rossiter and Jay Alnwick all capable of making a difference in the Scottish Premiership. Steven Gerrard will need to build on the club’s youth for next season, a fact that the fans seem to agree with, although the Bluenoses keeping our bar afloat also believe that the legendary Scouser will need to be backed financially if he is to turn the club’s recent poor fortunes around next season.

Rangers’ 1-1 draw away at Aberdeen is a good result in itself, although now Jimmy Nicholl’s side will need to rely on Aberdeen dropping points if they’re to catch them. This shouldn’t be a problem as Aberdeen travel to Parkhead to face Champions, Celtic in their final game, leaving Rangers needing to secure just a draw against Hibs at home to usurp The Dandies in second place and guarantee that Gerrard will have European football to enjoy in his debut season at Ibrox.
