Disgraced former England boss Sam Allardyce has not enjoyed the best of starts to life as manager of Crystal Palace and the Eagles faithful here in the Transfer Tavern have been equally disappointed with the commencement of his appointment.

The Londoners were thrashed 4-0 by fellow strugglers Sunderland at the weekend and the result saw the Palace fans here in the Tavern drown their sorrows in cheap lager, shots of tequila and bottles of red wine.

The result leaves some serious questions for Allardyce to answer with the Eagles’ situation down at the bottom of the league intensifying with each passing result.

Yohan Cabaye

The French midfielder has looked out of sorts since the arrival of Allardyce and he was withdrawn early into the game last weekend.

It remains to be seen just how much longer the 31-year-old will be at Crystal Palace under the stewardship of the former England boss and he could be dropped this weekend.

One Palace fan is putting some songs on the jukebox in the Tavern and he agrees that Cabaye should be dropped, stating that his form of late has been shocking.

Christian Benteke

The Belgian striker was guilty of missing several chances in the second half last weekend and his place could come under scrutiny.

Benteke had been in decent form but like many other players his confidence looks on its knees right now.

One Palace fan is sat flicking through the paper with an all-day breakfast in the Tavern and he thinks that Benteke should be dropped, stating that the club needs to show him that he is not immune to losing his place.
