The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a Twitter post from the club. The Bluenoses tweeted a video with Steven Gerrard in the Ibrox dressing room, leading to the fans responses as they still can’t believe the Liverpool legend is their new gaffer. The club announced on Friday that the 37-year-old would be their new manager following Graeme Murty’s sacking on May 1st.

This season has been an utter calamity as far the Rangers fans are concerned. The club started poorly back in July when they were knocked out of the Europa League in the qualifying rounds to the much lesser-fancied Progres Niederkorn. Since then the Ibrox team have been trying to keep the gap between themselves and Celtic as small as possible in the Scottish Premier League, albeit to no avail.
The last two Old Firm derbies have finished 4-0 and 5-0 to Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic as they look fairly unbeatable in Scotland at the moment. The Hoops are just a single win away from completing Scottish football’s first-ever back-to-back trebles after Rodgers scooped all three major honours last season and has already picked up the Scottish Premier League and Scottish League Cup this season, with a Scottish Cup final against Motherwell on May 19th being the only thing standing between them and the double-treble.
