‘Announce Lemar’, ‘I can dream can’t I?’ – Liverpool fans are already planning for the summer window

Liverpool supporters have been significantly more upbeat in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side get back to winning ways courtesy of a 3-0 success over struggling Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the Terriers off the back of defeats at the hands of Swansea City and West Brom, the latter seeing them exit the FA Cup at the fourth round stage for the third successive campaign. Yet the result was never in doubt for the Reds at the John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday night, with goals from Emre Can, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah securing a comfortable victory for the Merseyside giants, a result which moved them above Chelsea following their surprise 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Subsequently, there have been many buoyant Reds fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom have been discussing their side’s January transfer window in the last few hours.

Klopp’s side brought in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for £75 million right at the start of the window in a bid to bolster their defensive ranks, yet they also sold influential ace Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142 million.

And the deadline passed without a replacement for the Brazil international, and while this is likely to frustrate some of our resident Liverpudlians, several Reds supporters on Twitter have already turned their attentions to the summer window…
