While many of the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were largely delighted with the complexion of their summer, it’s fair to say a few are relatively frustrated.
Indeed, though Ronald Koeman has built an exciting new squad at Goodison Park, the fact that no new striker has arrived seriously annoyed the Toffees in the Tavern this evening.
The likes of Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen don’t offer much in the way of a natural Romelu Lukaku replacement, so the summer ended on a sour note for our resident Evertonians.
So much money has been spent over the last few months, though only Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin can lead the line and both are inexperienced at the top level.
With that in mind, here’s a look at how Everton fans reacted badly on Twitter to the fact they didn’t sign a striker on deadline day.
Anyone know if Walsh is actually doing his job? #efc #DeadlineDayLive #DeadlineDay pic.twitter.com/MEgJ3HtgkJ

Everton seem to be finished with transfers now. Is failure to land a top striker down to the manager, Steve Walsh or the board? #EFC

I wonder who's fault it is, that we can't find a striker? Can't see Koeman being happy if one isn't bought in #EFC #DeadineDay

Ronald Koeman is indeed on holiday in Portugal. Love to be a fly on the wall when he comes back to work… #EFC

Will Koeman tolerate things "IF" we don't sign a target man? Possibly – but it's another serious failing to plug our main gap by #efc board
