Newcastle United are bracing for a pivotal summer after an underwhelming campaign that hasn’t quite justified last year’s heavy investment.
Arrivals such as Nick Woltemade, Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa were meant to offset the loss of Alexander Isak, but results have been inconsistent — leaving the club with plenty to rethink in the months ahead.
And just as they prepare to reshape the squad, they could also be facing the loss of one of their most important attacking players.
Gordon Has “Serious Chances” to Leave Newcastle
Anthony Gordon could be on his way out of St. James’ Park this summer, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealing the winger has “serious chances to leave.”
The 25-year-old — described as “fearless” by Newcastle legend Alan Shearer — has been one of the club’s standout performers this season, scoring 17 goals across all competitions. His form has naturally attracted significant attention from across Europe.
Romano provided an update on the situation, stating: “Anthony Gordon has serious chances to leave Newcastle in the summer. Bayern are really interested, and he has other Premier League interest. He is one to watch.”
Interest from Bayern Munich appears particularly strong, while clubs in England — including Chelsea — are also monitoring the situation closely. With the World Cup on the horizon, Gordon may see this summer as the ideal time to take the next step in his career.
Newcastle, however, are unlikely to make any deal straightforward. The winger remains a key part of their long-term plans, meaning any potential suitor would need to table a significant offer to even begin negotiations.
This has the feel of a moment that could define Newcastle’s direction. Lose Gordon, and it’s another rebuild. Keep him, and it’s a statement.
