‘Are Newcastle any good at the football part?’ - Leeds fans erupt after late St. James’ drama

Our Leeds fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still celebrating here after their late equaliser against Newcastle last night.

The game at St. James’ Park was rightly billed as the biggest match of this latest set of fixtures in the Championship and it certainly lived up to the billing in terms of quality and drama.

Both sides had chances to win the game – particularly in the first half – but it looked as though the Magpies had done enough in the second to take the victory – by the slimmest of advantages at 1-0.

The Whites and Chris Wood, though, had other ideas as the in-form striker found himself in acres of space deep into stoppage time to cushion the ball into the net.

1-1 it would finish, then, and naturally Leeds fans erupted on Twitter.
