Arsenal are desperately wanting to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, however the latest update surrounding the two clubs has nothing to do with the Ghanaian as the La Liga side are keen on a Gunners star.

According to Marca, Atletico are keen on signing striker Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal are under no pressure to sell the player and rejected offers for him in January.

The La Liga side are hoping to do a deal which involves a player-plus cash deal for the Frenchman. Diego Simeone is willing to offer one of three players, Thomas Lemar, Angel Correa or Vitolo to the North London side.

The French striker has had another good season for Arsenal, scoring 12 goals and picking up four assists in 36 appearances in all competitions, per WhoScored, whilst managing on average 1.9 shots per game.
He still has two years on his contract, so Arsenal will not be forced into a sale this summer, but he has proved a very valuable asset for the side as he has picked up 48 goals and 24 assists in his 149 appearances, per Transfermarkt.
