Arsenal boss makes frustrating revelation ahead of Spurs clash

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a difficult campaign so far this season and the latest comments from their under-fire boss have really started to irk them.

Wenger’s has appeased some sections of supporters with the club’s revival in form over recent weeks, defeating Manchester City to seal a place in the FA Cup final and keeping their top-four hopes alive, but frustrations continue to simmer in North London.

Arsenal fans have made it clear they’re unhappy with the club’s lack of competitiveness in recent years and have found themselves regularly frustrated in the transfer window as they’ve missed out on some big names- so the latest reveal from Wenger has certainly not gone down well.

Quoted by The Daily Mirror, Wenger revealed ahead of tomorrow’s clash at White Hart Lane that the club were aware of Dele Alli’s talents before he moved to Spurs.

“We looked at him. He’s done very well, he’s a complete player, he’s dangerous and it’s marvellous at his age.”

Adding he’s unsure how close Arsenal ever got to signing the two-time PFA Young Player of the Year, fans in the bar have added Alli’s name to a long list of stars who could have joined the Gunners- which includes the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Our landlord isn’t surprised that Arsenal had kept tabs on Alli but believes it’s a strange time to make such a statement, as he feels Wenger has just drawn another target on his back.
