Arsenal: Charles Watts gushes over Ray Parlour’s hat-trick vs Werder Bremen

23 March is a special date on every Arsenal fan’s calendar and especially for the generation that followed the Gunners’ road in the UEFA Cup in 1999/2000 season.

The London outfit had to face Werder Bremen in the quarter-finals and were propelled to a 4-2 victory away from home by none other than a real cult hero, Ray Parlour.

Arsenal’s legendary midfielder managed to score a hat-trick with two first-half goals and one in the second half.

But the best thing about it is that each goal seems to be better than the other — and the bend on the first one was simply sublime.

Charles Watts was one of the journalists who couldn’t believe the quality of the strikes and called it a “ridiculously good” hat-trick on his Twitter profile.

And looking at the goals, it’s really difficult to disagree with him on that one.

Pure class.
