Arsenal: Fans accept Granit Xhaka’s time at the club is over

Arsenal fans have conceded that captain Granit Xhaka’s time at the club is at an end after the midfielder changed his Instagram profit to a picture of him in a Switzerland shirt, as opposed to a Gunners’ kit.

The 27-year-old has come under immense scrutiny after goading and swearing at supporters while being substituted during his side’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Xhaka has been at the club since 2016 after his £35m move from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.

Manager Unai Emery said that Xhaka was “devastated” after he was jeered off against the south London side but also believes he was wrong for doing what he did. At this stage, the Swiss captain is yet to apologise to fans for his outburst.

One fan believes that it’s the “beginning of the end” for Xhaka, while another took a quote from the great Thierry Henry and said that players should leave if the Arsenal badge is too heavy for them.
