Arsenal: Loads of fans call for Unai Emery to leave despite comments on club’s backing

Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against struggling Southampton at the weekend piled even more pressure on Unai Emery as they sit eighth, level on points with Burnley and Sheffield United. They’re without a league win in five games and many fans have had enough of him in the driving seat.

However, when Emery spoke to the media before the Europa League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night, he commented on the support he’s getting from staff at the club.

He said: “The club is really supporting me. I feel the club, everyone responsible in that area is backing me. Really, I appreciate it a lot. I feel strong with that support and know my responsibility to come back and change that situation.” (Quotes via Evening Standard)

Many fans don’t seem to be giving him that support though, and when Arsenal news aggregator @MrArsenicTM posted a link to the Standard’s article and shared the aforementioned quote, plenty made their opinions clear. The majority of them in the replies couldn’t believe Emery’s comments and called for him to leave the club.
