Arsenal: Fans drool over Axel Disasi who is Dayot Upamecano alternative

Some Arsenal fans have been drooling over the potential signing of Axel Disasi after the north London club reportedly had a bid rejected by French side Reims in the January transfer window.

According to GFFN (via RMC), the Gunners intend to accelerate talks in the coming days, as the central defender could provide a potentially cheaper alternative to long-term target Dayot Upamecano. who is also being chased by Real Madrid, as per AS.

Comparing the two men in their respective domestic leagues this season, Disasi actually averages more clearances and blocks per match, according to Whoscored.

The 22-year old also wins 4.9 duels per Ligue 1 game, in addition to making 1.2 tackles and one interception on average, as per Sofascore.

Disasi may provide a cheaper alternative to Upamecano, who has been quoted to have a release clause of £50 million in his contract by various outlets.
