Arsenal fans have been getting very excited after news of a potential signing emerged amid reports Granit Xhaka has been convinced to stay at the club.
According to The Athletic (via @ZRAFC), despite the fact the Swiss midfielder has been convinced to stay at the club this month, the North London side are still looking to sign a box-to-box midfielder.
The news is backed up by the Daily Telegraph, who also claim that the Gunners are looking at an engine room operator in that kind of mould. It remains to be seen if the news is true, however, if it is then Arsenal would be adding a sixth midfielder alongside the likes of Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos, Lucas Torreira, Joe Willock and Xhaka (via Transfermarkt).
Still, they obviously lost Aaron Ramsey over the course of the summer and none of their current crop of midfielders have scored more than one goal this season in the Premier League, so introducing more goals from that area of the pitch could help take some of the attacking burden off Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
