Arsenal lost 1-0 away at The London Stadium yesterday and the goal they lost to was good enough to win any game from Declan Rice. However, from Arsenal’s point of view, their run on the road is shocking as they continue to chase their first ever clean sheet away from home in the Premier League under Unai Emery.

The Gunners look like they may continue to struggle keeping a clean sheet on the road for a long time. Their defensive work is absolutely woeful and yesterday was no different. After failing to clear a corner, Samir Nasri had the opportunity to lay the ball off for Declan Rice in the middle of the Arsenal box. Rice was then able to sweep the ball home into the top corner without any sign of pressure from Arsenal.
That now takes Arsenal’s record away from home to 23 goals conceded, the 3rd most of any Premier League team this season. That statistic is something that will need to be changed very quickly if the Gunners are serious about finishing inside the top four this season, even if they do have goals going in for fun at the other end of the pitch with their attacking talents.
