Arsenal: Fans fume with Unai Emery after reports over Lucas Torreira emerge

Arsenal fans are concerned over the future of Lucas Torreira after less than appealing reports emerged.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Uruguayan midfielder is considering his future after being left unhappy with his role this campaign and will hold meetings with the club.

The 23-year-old has been consigned to a midfield role higher up the pitch rather than his natural defensive role with Emery preferring Granit Xhaka in the number six position.

As well as not being played in his natural position, Torreira has been reduced to just four starts in the 12 Premier League games so far this term.

It emerged earlier in 2019 that the Spanish coach was overruled by the board in the transfer of Torreira. According to The Athletic, Emery thought he was too small and wanted Steven N’Zonzi instead.
