Arsenal fans were singing the praises of a Gunners youngster on Wednesday evening as 18-year-old Folarin Balogun bagged a pre-season hat-trick in the space of six first-half minutes.
His goals were enough for an Arsenal XI to see off a spirited Barnet comeback as the Gunners came out on top, winning 3-2 at the Hive.
The centre-forward certainly has a knack for goalscoring, with 25 to his name in just 19 appearances in last season’s Under-18 Premier League – in which Arsenal finished champions of the South division.
Balogun opened his account for the night from the penalty spot, before curling home a second and capping it off with a finish from 20 yards to seal his hat-trick and Arsenal’s victory – in the end.
And following the striker’s quickfire treble, many supporters were full of hope that the youngster is set for a bright future in Arsenal colours.
Some were even talking up his chances of making an impact in the first team this season, as well as helping to fire the Gunners towards silverware in the forthcoming campaign.
With previous academy graduates such as Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah enjoying fine pre-seasons, both scoring during Arsenal’s tour of the United States, it seems these fans are keen for Balogun to follow in their footsteps:

Sack all our first team players. Start fresh with the young lads and we will be back where we belong in 10 years.
