Arsenal fans have been praising Robbie Burton after the under-23s beat their Spanish counterparts, Villareal, 3-0 in the Premier League International Cup.
Burton has been on fire this season scoring three goals in just 10 Premier League 2 games for the under-23s despite playing in a range of roles in midfield (via Transfermarkt).
His performances have been so good, manager Unai Emery gave the 19-year-old his unofficial first-team debut in pre-season as he travelled with the squad to the United States.
Manager Steve Bould was very complimentary of his players following the win, claiming they ‘dug deep’ to beat the Spanish side (via Arsenal).
The win leaves the Bould’s boys top of their respective group in the tournament ahead of Dinamo Zagreb, on goal difference.
Fans were lauding the midfielder following his performance last night as they took to Twitter with some fans comparing him to a legendary football figure.
