Arsenal: Fans love Patrick Vieira after throwback footage against Tottenham

Loads of Arsenal fans have shown their love for Patrick Vieira after their former captain scored against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a throwback clip posted by the north London club’s official Twitter page.

The Gunners sent out footage of the goals in the 2001 FA Cup semi-final at Old Trafford, where Vieira scored with a bullet header to punish Spurs after they had initially taken the lead. Fellow Frenchman Robert Pires then tapped in the winner after good initial play from the ex-central midfield player.

Lots of Gooners were quick to react to the tweet, heaping praise on the 43-year old, with one supporter calling him a ‘monster’.

Vieira scored 33 goals in total for Arsenal, whilst also providing 34 assists in 392 appearance in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt. He won three Premier League titles and seven other domestic trophies during his spell in North London.
