Plenty of Arsenal fans have shown their love for Mikel Arteta after the north London club posted a simple tweet of their boss on their official Twitter page.
It might have been strange for some Gunners supporters to see their manager in a club jersey but the Spanish coach did play for them just a few years ago.
The former central midfield player made a total of 150 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring 16 goals and providing a further 11 assists, according to Transfermarkt. Of course, Arteta has also played for Everton in English football, but perhaps interestingly never won a senior international cap for his native country. Indeed, playing in the same era as the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas probably did not help his cause.
The 38-year old has now been trusted to manage the team, and has been in charge for 15 matches, winning eight, drawing five and losing two, with the side scoring 23 goals and conceding 12, as per Transfermarkt.
