Arsenal fans on Twitter are firmly against Moreno swoop

Arsenal fans on Twitter have been losing their minds recently as reports have come out that Unai Emery could be set to sign Alberto Moreno from Liverpool. The Spanish full-back played under Emery at Sevilla and The Mirror claims he could look to bring the 26-year-old to The Emirates.

The story gets even more ludicrous as it seems Arsenal could have stiff competition for the left-back from both Barcelona and Real Madrid. In his time at Anfield, Moreno has failed to convince the fans that he can do the job defensively, even if he is strong going forward. The Spaniard has supposedly refused to renegotiate terms on Merseyside and will be leaving for free in summer when his contract expires.

Because of that, he’ll be free to negotiate terms with a new club when the January transfer window rolls around owing to the Bosman ruling. If Arsenal can get a contract offer in with the promise of first-team football then the proposition of being reunited with Emery may be too much to resist for Moreno, even with Spain’s two biggest clubs supposedly circling for him too, even if the Gunners are determined not to sign him.
