Arsenal fans on Twitter are livid as Ornstein delivers negative update on Perisic and Carrasco

A lot of Arsenal fans had expected big things for today as Deadline Day can be a very enjoyable day for the fans of clubs who decide to take part in late action. The Gunners believed that their club could be doing just that today, although David Ornstein has poured cold water on speculation linking them with Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco.

Over the course of the month, a lot of the Gunners believed that when they reached February 1st they’d already have a new winger in. Yannick Carrasco was heavily linked earlier in the month yet the more recent stories have been concerning World Cup finalist Ivan Perisic. But at the moment, both of them look set to end the window at their current clubs, Dalian Yifang and Inter Milan, respectively.

Whilst Ornstein’s update on the Gunner’s chase for a winger wasn’t what the fans wanted, the BBC journalist did give them something to be happy about as he claimed that they’re still looking into bringing in Christopher Nkunku from PSG. However, that minor positive simply isn’t enough to make the fans happy given the fact that they won’t be bringing in a much-needed wide-man.

You can read the Gunners’ angry reaction to the Perisic and Carrasco updates here:

The Gunners were fuming with their club at the prospect of not signing a winger and weren’t going to hide their frustrations at their club’s hierarchy.
