Since Unai Emery took over at The Emirates, a lot of players have shone in ways they never did under Arsene Wenger. The likes of Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Alex Iwobi have all had upturns in form, but Granit Xhaka is the man that a lot of The Gunners have been shocked with.

It will come as absolutely no surprise that Xhaka rates his season so far this year as his best one so far at The Emirates. The Swiss midfielder, who’s lucky enough to wear the armband for his country, has been in great form for both Arsenal and Switzerland and barring one mistake against Wolves, he’s done a great job in cutting out the silly mistakes that he became synonymous with during Wenger’s days at the club.
This season is the 26-year-old’s third at the club and after coming 5th and 6th, missing out on a Champions League spot two seasons in a row, The Gunners will be hoping that Xhaka can keep his form up as the club chases a return to the top footballing table in Europe. It certainly won’t be easy, but it’s an attainable target for Emery and co, especially if the Spanish gaffer can continue getting the best out of his players as he has been with Xhaka.

No one is claiming Xhaka has completely turned around, but the signs are there for the Swiss midfielder and he has the potential to go far if he keeps on his upward trajectory.
