Arsenal fans have reacted to the surprising and somewhat odd transfer rumours that their club is interested in offering Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata a move to the Emirates.
Mata is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and according to the Daily Mail, via Calcio Mercato, a lack of starts and game-time under José Mourinho means he will most likely not be offered a new deal. Mata played under current Gunners boss Unai Emery when they were both still at Spanish club Valencia and the manager could be keen on bringing him back to London as early as January.
The 30-year-old Mata spent three years at Chelsea before signing for the Red Devils in 2014. He also scored the spectacular free-kick against Juventus last week in the Champions League that sparked United to a come-from-behind 2-1 win in Turin.
Arsenal fans however are in-between the idea of Mata joining the North London club with some suggesting he is not the young and energetic player they need at the moment.
