Arsenal fans on Twitter hate these rumours of star man’s stay

Arsenal fans have become increasingly disillusioned with Mesut Ozil. The German star has got everything in his locker to be a star player, but what comes across as a poor attitude and a lack of work rate has hardly endeared him to the fans. Now, though, after months of speculation, it seems he’s set to stay at The Emirates this summer.

With that news, it’s fair to say that the majority of the Gunners are far from happy. The former Real Madrid man is not who the fans want to see stay, and they’d rather be rid of him and his astronomical wages as soon as possible. The money that they’d get for him may not be massive, but clearing his wage bill would be significant in their bid to make summer signings.

According to Spotrac, Mesut Ozil makes an incredible £350,000 per week, adding up to £18.2 million annually, and when money is tight you simply cannot afford to pay someone like Mesut Ozil, who has contributed very little this season, that kind of money. For all of those wages, his return in the Premier League has been just five goals and two assists, and it’s simply not good enough for a man who they paid £42.3 million for, via Transfermarkt.
