Arsenal fans on Twitter over the moon with Xhaka

Under Unai Emery this season, a lot of Arsenal players have thrived. The Spanish gaffer seems to have ironed out the mistakes in some of his players’ game, with Granit Xhaka being one of those. Against Liverpool on the weekend the Swiss midfielder was superb and The Gunners were keen to heap praise on him.

Arsenal fans over the last two years have made Xhaka one of their prime scapegoats. The Swiss midfielder often goes missing defensively in the Gunners’ midfield, however, since Lucas Torreira was brought into the club Xhaka has stepped up defensively and shown what he’s all about, with his display on the weekend against Liverpool further underlining just how impressive he has been throughout the season so far.

If Xhaka can keep up his incredible form right throughout the season then the boo boys will surely have to pack it in and find a new target for their trips to The Emirates. The fact that Arsenal are now competing over 90 minutes with the likes of Liverpool is just a testament to the way that Emery has his side setup and if Xhaka and co can carry on playing in Emery’s model of football then they’ll only carry on getting better and succeeding.
