Arsenal fans everywhere have been voting for who they think has been their player of the month in the first month of competitive football after Arsene Wenger. Matteo Guendouzi won the award with an incredible 68% of the vote whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan came 2nd with 22% of the vote. What’s shocked the fans, though, is that Petr Cech has come 3rd with 6% of the fans votes.

The fans have been constantly getting onto their club’s Twitter admin’s back with calls for Bernd leno to finally start at The Emirates this season. The German shot-stopper was a summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen and it was widely believed that he’d been signed as a number one to force Cech onto the bench. David Ospina even left the club to make room for Leno and it seems strange that he hasn’t started.
What is even stranger is that 6% of Arsenal fans decided to choose Petr Cech as their player of the month for August. The ex-Chelsea man is yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this campaign and he’s shipped eight goals in just four games. His distribution has also been poor and at times its been a real mystery as to why he’s kept his place over Leno, with the fans picking up on this too.

The fans aren’t sure how Cech has slipped into 3rd place in the voting but it’s fair to say we’ve found the 94% who didn’t vote for the shot-stopper.
