Arsenal fans on Twitter went into panic mode when Laca missed yesterday’s clash

Yesterday, just an hour before Arsenal were due to step out at The Vitality Stadium and take on Bournemouth in the Premier League’s early kick-off, the news broke that Alexandre Lacazette would be missing out as a precaution with a tight groin, and the news hit The Gunners hard.

Luckily for The Gunners, they have two world-class strikers in Laca and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and it was the Gabonese frontman who was given a runout, playing the full 90 minutes in his favoured role as the lone gunman. Fortunately, though, seeing as Laca only missed out as a precaution it looks like the Frenchman will be back for next week as Arsenal host the first North London Derby since the end of the Arsene Wenger era.

If Arsenal didn’t have the prospect of facing Spurs in six days time, Lacazette may well have been given a run in the side, or at least brought on as a sub, in the clash at The Vitality. However, Unai Emery still managed to secure three points on the road even without his first-choice frontman as Auba stepped up and did the business with his 20th goal in Arsenal colours. It was a tough game against Eddie Howe’s side and it certainly would have been easier if they had Laca fit, but what’s important is the three points and getting the ex-Lyon man back for Spurs.

The Gunners were obviously distraught to see their star miss out and will just hope Laca is back to fitness ahead of Tottenham next Sunday.
