Considering that last time out when Arsenal faced Crystal Palace they had the likes of Mohamed Elneny, Carl Jenkinson and Shkodran Mustafi starting, Emery had to make changes for last night. He did that, and none of the aforementioned trio started. When seeing the lineup, the Gunners were delighted, but they still fell to defeat.

Arsenal fans can have no complaints with the team selection last night given their reaction to seeing Emery’s eleven selected players to start the game. No Mustafi is always a winning choice and considering there was a return for the midfield double-pivot of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreria it’s impossible to knock the choices Emery made. However, it made no difference to the result.
The Gunners were left absolutely devastated when they found themselves 3-0 down at half-time as shambolic defending and lacklustre goalkeeping saw them drop yet more points on the road. The next game that they face is again on the road this time against Leicester, and it certainly will not be easy for the North London side to bounce back from yesterday. Bouncing back is a must, though, especially considering they face a Europa League semi-final in seven days time.
