It can happen a lot that referees take the flack from a fan base when they’ve lost a game, even though the team were shockingly poor. That was the case with Arsenal yesterday, and whilst the first-half sending off of Ainsley Maitland-Niles had an impact, Michael Oliver wasn’t the one with defensive ineptitude to allow the Foxes in to score three.
Two yellow cards, first one was so harsh.

Michael Oliver is one of the best match officials not just in the Premier League, but in the footballing world, and he was bang on when he gave Maitland-Niles his two bookings yesterday. The Gunners found themselves in a tough spot at The King Power, and Unai Emery’s decision to put the rash and inexperienced Maitland-Niles up against James Maddison was a mistake in itself.
At The Emirates in the reverse fixture of this clash, Arsenal put in one of their best performances of the season, but they couldn’t back that up this time around and fell to a shocking 3-0 drubbing at the hands of the 2015/16 Premier League champions. As far as the fans as concerned, though, had it not been for Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ unjust sending off, they would have been able to get a result.

Even the second is a weak yellow. Terrible refereeing as per usual. Disgusting.

The Gunners hate the fact that Oliver ruined the game in their eyes and will be hoping they can salvage their top four hopes in the final few weeks.
