Plenty of Arsenal fans are raving at reports that the north London club have bid 50 million euros, which equates to around £43 million, for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The outlet claims that the potential move is ‘one step away’ as the Spanish giants and the player himself will have to decide where his future lies. The figure is his reported release clause, which has been confirmed by his agent.
Partey has previously told ESPN that he would be like to play in the top flight after describing it as a good and very competitive league with some of the best players in the world in his opinion.
The 26-year old’s stats so far in La Liga this season are relatively impressive for a defensively minded midfield player. Partey wins 6.6 duels per match, and also averages 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.2 clearances, as per Sofascore.
