Arsenal fans have been praising the performance of ‘keeper Emiliano Martinez after the Argentine kept a clean sheet against Europa League rivals Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 27-year-old was starting his first game of the season as Arsenal’s number two following the retirement of Petr Cech at the end of last season.
He was in inspired form as he made seven saves in the game last night, the most of any ‘keeper who kept a clean sheet in the first round of matches in the competition (via Twitter).
The club’s longest-serving player will now have his eyes firmly set on the number one spot following just 15 first-team appearances during seven years at the club (via Transfermarkt).
The ‘keeper tweeted out following the comfortable victory for Unai Emery’s side: “3 points, fans, clean sheet, great start in the Europa League campaign.”
Arsenal fans were more than complimentary of the long-serving player as they took to Twitter to praise him for his performance against the German side.
