Arsenal fans have had enough with their shoddy defence and soft touch at the back and are desperate for changes to be made. For that to happen, they have to ship out the deadwood first. The Gunners know that they have very few defenders worthy of wearing the shirt, and whilst some fans like him, a lot are calling for Nacho Monreal to go.

The versatile Spanish left-back has been a key player for the Gunners over the last few years and his ability to play as a left-wing-back and as a left-sided centre-half in both a three and a four at the back system has added value to the man who the Gunners’ affectionately refer to as La Cabra. However, considering the defender will be 33-years-old in a couple of weeks, it could be time to move on.
Unai Emery will be aware of his situation at the moment with the defence and will know that money needs to be spent. Yet for that to happen he may have to cash in on a few, and Monreal may be one of those cashed in on, even if the fee isn’t large. Regardless of the fee though, the wages freed up will come in handy and that’s one of the reasons the fans want to be rid of the experienced Spaniard.

The Gunners are more than ready to allow Monreal to leave and would have no issues with the experienced left-back being moved on over the summer.
