As debut seasons go, Bernd Leno is having an absolute blinder in the current campaign. The German shot-stopper is having a great time as Arsenal’s number one man between the sticks, comprehensively usurping Petr Cech and staking a claim as one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers alongside the likes of David De Gea and Alisson Becker.

The German ‘keeper was brought into the club from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and Unai Emery has put a lot of faith in the ex-Bundesliga stopper to finally be a goalkeeper that the fans can rely on. So far, he has more than lived up to that too, and with incredible performances against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham the fresh-faced Gunner has shone in his debut campaign.
The German still has a way to go before he can usurp the likes of De Gea and Alisson as the undisputed best goalkeeper in the Premier League, yet he’s still an exceptionally underrated figure and is already one of the top glovemen in the top flight. The Gunners will want it to stay that way too, and as long as he flies under the radar Arsenal fans will have less stress of a top club coming in to poach their man.
