Arsenal fans take to Twitter to rate Aubameyang’s season

As is always the case in professional football, and the Premier League especially, the fans are always there to both spur on and get on the backs off players. At Arsenal there is often a lot of negativity from the fans towards the players, yet as AFTV have asked fans to rate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s season, the ratings have mostly been high.

Arsenal’s Gabonese frontman truly is electric. Wherever the striker’s played he’s scored goals and The Emirates is seeing that this season. However, whilst goals are Auba’s forte, he also misses a lot of big chances. The recent penalty miss against Tottenham at Wembley was a huge one, but he bounced back well with goals against Manchester United and Stade Rennais in the following week.

Had Auba scored that penalty at Wembley, though, he’d be leading the race for the Golden Boot alongside Sergio Aguero. At the moment, the Man City man has 18 goals whilst Auba, Harry Kane, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all have 17. It will make tough reading for the Arsenal striker, though, as he leads the way for big chances missed too, having spurned 19 golden opportunities, and you can see those stats on the FPL website.

The Gunners all seem to agree that whilst Auba has been a shining light for them this season, his record of tucking away the clear-cut chances is not good enough. and will be something to improve for the 2019/20 campaign.
