Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of Arsenal and Manchester United’s swap deal for Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan took place. In the 12 months since then, it’s been a very underwhelming start for both of the pair. Mkhitaryan has arguably been the better of them, yet the Gunners are still yet to be convinced by the Armenians.
Exactly one year ago today, @HenrikhMkh became one of us
Since then…

The ex-Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund man was sublime during his time in Germany, yet whilst he’s been in England with both Manchester United and Arsenal he’s failed to live up to his potential. The Armenian midfielder has had his moments at The Emirates, but for the most part, he hasn’t been able to be the player that the Arsenal fans thought they might be getting last January.
The fact that Mkhitaryan came from Manchester United also probably means that his wages are massive and if that is the case then it could pose a real problem for Unai Emery. If he can free up some wages he’d be a great position to recruit some new players in the summer, and with the fans all calling for Mkhi to leave, it could be a win-win for the club if they allow the 30-year-old to leave.

The Gunners aren’t convinced by Mkhitaryan and would happily let him leave if anyone comes in for him.
