Many Arsenal fans were overjoyed at the announcement of Dani Ceballos’ arrival at the Emirates Stadium – but it wasn’t the manager that these supporters were looking to congratulate for sealing the move.
Arsenal’s flurry of tweets from the club’s main Twitter account included a quote from their newest recruit – before he was swiftly followed by William Saliba – which revealed full-back Hector Bellerin urged his fellow Spaniard ‘not to think twice’ about making the move to North London, prompting plenty of fans to show their gratitude towards the Gunners defender.
Bellerin’s input had not gone unnoticed judging by the reaction to Ceballos’ signing, which displayed the right-back having an effect off the pitch as he recovers from the long-term injury he suffered in January.
Some fans demanded that Bellerin be made captain, while others were full of admiration for their player taking up a behind-the-scenes role in getting Ceballos in an Arsenal shirt.
So with one of their players doubling up as a scout, fans had only one place to turn after Bellerin’s glowing recommendation of the club and the city of London seemed to help get the Gunners their man – amid interest from rivals Spurs – in the red and white of Arsenal:
