Arsenal’s options at centre-back this summer look to be fairly thin on the ground, following reports of Laurent Koscielny being frozen out of the first-team squad after his recent misdemeanours and no new arrivals to the defence for next season thus far.
William Saliba’s transfer from Saint-Etienne will see the teenager spend next year on loan at the Ligue 1 club – though a few supporters think the Gunners have an in-house solution to boost their defensive numbers for the campaign ahead.
Calum Chambers spent last year at Fulham – becoming their Player of the Season in 2018/19 – and a handful of fans believe he is worthy of another run in the Arsenal team, having not played for the side since Unai Emery arrived at the club.
But with this section of the Gunners support eager to see the likes of Shkodran Mustafi out of the team, these fans are calling for 24-year-old Chambers to be given a chance upon his return.
While Rob Holding continues to work on his return from injury, it looks as if Mustafi – who made 40 appearances last term – could rack up games again next year, though these supporters seem keen to give Chambers a try in his place:
I want chambers over Mustafi. Give him a chance guys!

Happily play him over Mustafi every game.

Much prefer him over Mustafi.

He would be a better option than mustafi. With holding and hector coming back our defence might look as bad as it was last season. That’s depending we sort the lb position out.

Of course. Holding is not ready, Sokratis will be the victim of VAR, and Mustafi should never play

Should be kept just to keep Mustafi out the team
