Arsenal: Fans want club to avoid the signing of Daniele Rugani

Arsenal fans have been asking the club to steer clear of signing Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani after the Gunners were once again linked with the Italian.

According to The Telegraph, Rugani is just one of a number of targets Mikel Arteta’s side are looking at in the January transfer window.

One fan of the club compared him to Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, claiming he was good on the ball, however, possessed no other skills.

Looking at the passing statistics, Christensen and Rugani do possess similar pass accuracy ratings this campaign, as per WhoScored.

It comes after Calum Chambers‘ injury hell was revealed with the centre-back out for up to nine months with an anterior cruciate ligament problem.

The 25-year-old was being targeted by the north London outfit last summer, however, the club failed in a bid to bring him to the Emirates Stadium after they weren’t able to commit to signing him on a permanent deal upon the expiration of a potential loan deal (via Tuttosport).

Fans weren’t too keen on the club reportedly renewing their interest in the Serie A defender as they took to Twitter to voice their doubts over a potential move.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
