Senior Arsenal reporter Chris Wheatley shared an image on Twitter of Jack Wilshere watching the club’s Under-23s in Gunners attire.
And, as to be expected, his post had a number of Arsenal fans talking on social media.
The Gunners confirmed on Thursday morning that Wilshere is training with the club while he continues to do his coaching badges.
The 29-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Bournemouth over the summer and will predominantly be around Arsenal’s Under-23 side while occasionally joining in with first-team training under Mikel Arteta until the end of January.
He was present for Arsenal’s Under-23 clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday evening, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Defender Zak Swanson appeared to be the match-winner for Arsenal before Christian Saydee equalised for the hosts right at the death.
Could Wilshere still do a job for Arsenal?
Yes, why not!
No, not good enough!
Arsenal fans react
However, it was Wilshere’s presence at the game which had these Gunners supporters talking, with one labelling Wheatley’s post as ‘wonderful’.
“Good news is comin”
“It’s really wonderful to see Jack back in that gear! Good work Mikel and Arsenal.”
“Wilshere – Partey we are back”
“Things you love to see.”
“Look how happy he is”
