Many Arsenal fans have been left to slam the display of Granit Xhaka in their 2-1 away loss to Villarreal in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
A central midfield player by trade, the Switzerland international started at left-back for the Emirates Stadium faithful, and really struggled for the first goal, failing to engage with his man and instead backing off into the box for Unai Emery's team to take a very early lead.
He also failed to react quickly enough in the penalty box for Villarreal's second goal, and generally struggled at times keeping up with the pace of winger Samuel Chukwueze - perhaps understandably so.
The 28-year-old lost out on three of his duels and failed to block any shots or record a single clearance in the game, which is hardly ideal while playing in defence, all while losing possession of the ball a total of 16 times, the most out of any of his teammates to have set foot on the pitch (Sofascore).

These Gunners supporters slammed his performance on Twitter, with one Gooner even going as far as to claim that he was a 'complete liability':
