Arsenal are set to make an 'improved' January bid for Palmeiras forward Danilo with reports sharing the latest transfer news out of north London.

The Lowdown: Gunners make summer move...

The Gunners were seriously interested in a move for Danilo over last summer and the Premier League leaders were even willing to shell out £22 million for his signature.

However, the 21-year-old's move to north London wasn't to be as his club refused to sanction an exit from Brazil - mainly due to his importance to their team in the Copa Libertadores.

Next month's World Cup is now looming, though, with the Brazilian season ending before Qatar's highly anticipated tournament at the end of November.

As such, Arsenal and technical director Edu now believe their is a chance Palmeiras will sell their star winger.

The Latest: Arsenal set for 'improved' Danilo bid...

Indeed, according to The Sun, there has been a promising update on Mikel Arteta's interest in Danilo.

It is claimed Arsenal 'will' lodge an 'improved' bid for the South American ace after failing to sign him in the most recent transfer window - and there is much more optimism in terms of potentially securing a deal for the player.

The Emirates Stadium high-flyers think Palmeiras could be willing to 'cash in' and ultimately accept their offer for Danilo in January, which is said to be around £26m this time.

The Verdict: Get it done...

Arsenal already play host to a plethora of brilliant Brazilian talents, namely the three Gabriels - Magalhaes, Jesus and Martinelli - but adding Danilo to their ranks could be a brilliant move.

Called a potentially 'shrewd' Edu signing by scout writer Zach Lowy, another cross-Atlantic football expert in Tim Vickery has raved over the starlet - calling him 'dynamic' with an 'interesting' passing range.

It's clear he is standing out among some of Brazil's best up-and-coming talents and we believe Arsenal should waste no time in getting a winter deal done.
