Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still intrigued as to how manager Arsene Wenger is going to use both his big money strikers in the same team this season.

After bringing in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund last month, many of the Gunner fans here in the pub are wondering how that would affect summer signing Alexandre Lacazette. In Aubameyang’s first game, it seemed that Arsenal would be a dangerous attacking force to be reckoned with, although the north London derby showed otherwise.

Wenger has a decision to make in terms of who his number one forward is, and most of the regulars believe it will have huge repercussions on a certain player. With Lacazette coming on to little avail against Tottenham at Wembley, it seems the Emirates isn’t big enough for the two them.

Our landlord believes that Lacazette will be the fall guy that will feel the Aubameyang deal the most, and here are his TWO reasons why Arsenal should genuinely look at selling the former Lyon man…

Low on confidence

Lacazette, like any striker, is a confidence player. The fact Wenger opted to bring in another star forward so close after bringing in the Frenchman, can only be playing on his mind. Indeed, that was pretty obvious during his cameo at Wembley last weekend.

While lacking in confidence, Lacazette isn’t going to find his feet properly in the Premier League and could start to make rash decisions in front of goal. All that being said, Lacazette’s form will dip and eventually be turned into a flop.

Frustration

Lack of game time and sitting on the bench will start to frustrate the Frenchman, who has been used to starting for the first half of the season. However, with a player of Aubameyang’s quality and striking potency, Wenger cannot afford to let his record striker play second fiddle.

As the frustration builds, Lacazette’s form will dip and Wenger will have another reason to offload him. It’s only a matter of time before an Alexis Sanchez type of situation arises again inside the Emirates.
