Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not shocked to hear that they are linked with another youngster after Metro revealed that they had been given the green light to sign Valencia’s wonderkid Jose Luis Gaya.
The 19-year-old has rejected a new deal at the Mestalla Stadium, which has given Arsene Wenger the confidence he can bring the left back to the Emirates.
The Gunners and Real Madrid have scouted Gaya for months and it is suggested that Wenger tried signing him in January.
Valencia initially refused to sell the youngster but now that he has turned his back on a new deal, it looks as though they will try and cash in on him.
The exciting full-back is set cost in the region of £13.6m at the end of the season and he could be seen as a replacement for Nacho Monreal.
