Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were pleasantly surprised to hear claims of a contract extension for their manager over the weekend and they’re now pleased to hear details of the long-term vision.
The Daily Star states Wenger will sign a two-year extension to his current deal, until 2019, whilst the club will also look to bring in Patrick Vieira and are preparing to make him the next manager in North London.
Vieira is an iconic figure in the red half of North London, having captained the side for many years, and is know earning his managerial stripes with Manchester City’s elite development squad; where he has received rave reviews.
For Arsenal fans, seeing Vieira associated with one of their domestic rivals is painful to watch and they would jump at the chance to bring him back to his ‘home’.
A role for Vieira at Arsenal would be similar to Ryan Giggs alongside Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United, where the Welshman is being taught the ropes by the experienced manager before leading the side himself.
Arsenal fans, is it time to give Vieira his return to Arsenal? Let us know in the comments below!
